Description

The St. Lawrence, a grand river that feeds much of eastern Canada and connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean, is in winter the scene of a truly spectacular sight : that of great ships slaloming between massive blocks of ice. At the charming village of Tadoussac, the majestic Saguenay Fjord meets the river, its waters frozen solid in winter. Its steep cliff faces, covered thickly by snow-covered boréal forests, frame panoramas that are truly unforgettable.

Your journey by snowmobile will be marked by a ferry trip across frigid waters and a day spent at Monts Valin, where spectacular snowcover and variable topography have created a paradise for snowmobilers. You’ll also journey through Charlevoix, one of Quebec’s most beautiful regions. In the middle of all of these magical landscapes, charming log cabins and inviting traditional inns wait to welcome you at the end of each day of this truly unique adventure.

Finally in the afternoon, you will arrive at your refuge for the night. Our exclusive chalet, located in the woods, awaits you. It is nestled in a bay of the magnificent Lake of the 7 Islands. Here we invite you to experience the Quebec chalet atmosphere. It’s a bit like family, no hotel service! After taking possession of your rooms, we invite you to the living room to help your guide prepare the meal, fetch some logs to fuel the wood stove, prepare the table, the aperitif! After the meal and all these little tasks related to life at the chalet, you will enjoy the evening in an armchair, near the stove which hums and diffuses its gentle heat. Through the large bay window, perhaps you will have the chance to catch the Northern Lights. The best spot in the woods to observe them during your raid is at our exclusive chalet! Don’t miss this!

Departure early this morning because your journey today takes you to one of the most beautiful natural settings offered by our region where winter is king: the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve. Day 5 - Sainte-Rose-du-Nord-St Simeon - 250km

The north shore of the Fjord, which you will travel today, offers landscape wonders perhaps even more impressive than on the south shore. You will spend a large part of this day in the Monts-Valin region, a rocky massif overlooking the fjord. The snow cover in this area is spectacular, to the delight of snowmobilers and winter sports enthusiasts! You will cross the Fjord in Tadoussac on a ferry to end the day on a winding route which will take you to Domaine ô Bois Charlevoix to spend the night in a domain built entirely of logs.

Day 6 - Saint Siméon - Parc des Grands Jardins 180km

Departure towards the south shore of the Saguenay and its technical trails which join a string of small authentic villages in Charlevoix and Saguenay. Lunch stop at L’Anse St Jean. Day 7 -Parc des Grands Jardins-Quebec 220km

For this last day of snowmobiling, a challenge awaits you, that of crossing the Laurentides Wildlife Reserve on an off-trail route, the snow cover of which always has a few surprises in store.
