12 days of extreme snowmobile adventure between Quebec Nunavik and Labrador

12 days of snowmobile raid on the mythical rivers of Quebec and Labrador: Caniapiscau, La Georges, Kogaluk and crossing the Nain Plateau and the fast ice of Nunatsiavut.

Program

The chronological sequence of the snowmobile expedition described below will most certainly be modified in real time in consultation with the guides, all the modifications are an integral part of the adventure and in no way affect the general quality of the experience.

Sunday March 24th, 2024

  • Midday reception at Wabush Labrador Airport
  • transfer to the Two seasons Inn Hotel in Labrador City
  • taking into account equipment and snowmobiles
  • general briefing of the expedition
  • dinner and night as twin occupancy at the Hotel

Monday 25th, 2024 (300 km)

  • breakfast
  • departure for a first day of  snowmobile riding and running the synergy of the team in which everyone to his field of attribution.
  • 300km snowmobile trip to the Naskapi native community of Schefferville, boundary between Quebec and Labrador
  • Lunch in the bush along the 150km long Menihek Lake
  • dinner and night as twin occupancy in hôtel

Tuesday march 26th, 2024 (270km)

  • Breakfast
  • full north departure to follow the Depas River on the main path of the caribou hunting inbound the George river
  • Lunch in the forest
  • dinner and overnight in camp near twin rivers

wednesday march 27th, 2024 (240 km)

  • Breakfast
  • departure at Dawn to descend the George river for a hundred kilometers, then we will leave the river bed to climb on the Nain plateau and cross it due east towards the Labrador Sea
  • Crossing Pearlys Gate in the late afternoon and descent to the Labrador Sea.
  • Arrival at Nain, the last inhabited Inuit coastal village on the east coast of Labrador at the end of the day
  • Supper and overnight occ. twin in Auberge in Nain

thursday march 28th, 2024

  • Lay day in Nain Inuit Community, meeting with locals, refueling and reconfiguration
  • Supper and overnight occ. twin in Auberge in Nain

Friday march 29th, 2024 (275 km)

  • Breakfast
  • departure due north on the ice floe towards the abandoned village of Hebron
    The route follows the coast, crosses bays and cuts through some passes and steep mountains of Mts Kiglapet
  • Arrival in the late afternoon in the abandoned village of Hebron
  • Dinner and overnight in camp in Hebron.

Saturday march 30 th, 2024

  • Breakfast
  • The expedition continues north to enter Torngat National Park (Canada Park) with the ascent of the Nakvak torrent, towards the line of the watershed between Labrador Sea (Atlantic) and Ungava Bay (Arctic) .
  • We then enter Kuururjjuak National Park (Park Nunavik) and descend the Koroc river.
  • Arrival at the end of the afternoon at the Koroc river base camp.
  • dinner and overnight in a refuge.

Sunday march 31st, 2024, (270 km)

  • Breakfast
  • Descent of the Koroc river and meeting with groups of fishermen, then arrival at the end of the day at George River (kangiksualujjuak) friendly Inuit village of Nunavik
  • Installation at the Hotel Coop, Grocery, supplies …
  • Supper and overnight in occ. twin at the Hotel Coop.

Monday april 1st, 2024

  • George River Reconditioning Day
    Mechanical checks, refueling and meetings with the natives.
  • Dinner and overnight at the Coop hotel

tuesday april 2d, 2024 (200km)

  • Breakfast
  • Early departure by George River Bay for a full ascent of the river and its breathtaking landscapes, Pyramid Hill, Wedge Hills, Helen Falls …
  • Stopover at Lac de la Hutte Sauvage for the Night
  • Night in camp

Wednesday april 3rd, 2024 (200km)

  • breakfast
  • We will continue our ascent of the Georges River to twin River then continue due south to the Smallwood Reservoir
  • Lunch in the forest
  • dinner and overnight in camp on the George River

thursday april 4th, 2024 (350 km)

  • breakfast
  • we continue full south on the georges river then the head of the reservoir towards the Orma road, service road of the dikes of the smallwood reservoir
  • Arrival at the end of the day at Churchill falls
  • Supper and overnight in occ. twin in hotel in Churchill Falls

friday april 5th, 2024

  • Last day of snowmobiling between Churchill Falls and Labrador City on the semi-maintained trail of the Trans Labrador Trail (TLT) which will bring us back to civilization
  • Expedition de-briefing dinner and overnight in twin occupancy in Labrador city.

Saturday april 6th, 2024

  • spare day in case of bad weather

  • transfer to Wabush Airport for your return flight or setting off for Quebec by road.

The package includes:
